Our Moderator - Rev. Richard J. Hampton

Reverend Richard James Hampton is the Pastor of the Turner Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Steelton, PA.  He is the 6th Pastor in the 80 year history of the church.
 
Richard James Hampton was born Osceola, Arkansas, but reared in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At an early age, Richard accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior.  Richard joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church and was mentored by its Pastor, Reverend Roland P. Forbes, Jr.

Richard began his ascent in church leadership in the youth department of Ebenezer.  

 

At the age of 15, he began to teach the Teenage Sunday School Class.  Later, Richard became the church’s Youth Pastor. Reverend Hampton went on to become Pastor of Christian Education.  He served as Director of Youth Activities for the Pennsylvania State Congress of Christian Education.  He has also served as President of the Central Baptist Association Youth Department. Reverend Hampton was a founding member of One Accord Ministries.
 
Reverend Hampton serves as the President of the African-American Ministerial Alliance of Steelton and Vicinity and Vice- Moderator of the Central Baptist Association.  He is a member of the N.A.A.C.P. and 100 Black Men of America.  Pastor Hampton currently studying at Lincoln University.

Pastor Hampton is married to the former Jada L. Berry.  They have been blessed with three children: Jayden Pierce Hampton, who has passed away, Jordyn Madison Hampton and Justin James Hampton.
